First Italian Clinical Installations of retinaSEES-1.0 Announced

Oculox announces the upcoming installation of retinaSEES-1.0 at two ophthalmology practices in Italy: Studio Oculistico Dott. Vezzola in Salò and a second practice in Corbetta. These will be the first clinical deployments of retinaSEES in the country, enabling both sites to offer patients multi-mode laser therapy for intermediate age-related macular degeneration.

The installations are supported by Oculox's Italian distribution partner Miloftalmica, and represent a concrete first step in bringing retinaSEES into active clinical use. Oculox looks forward to working closely with both practices as part of the ongoing rollout of the device.

retinaSEES Receives CE Mark: Class IIb

retinaSEES received CE Class IIb certification in January 2026 under EU Medical Device Regulation 2017/745, one of the most demanding regulatory classifications for active therapeutic devices. This certification confirms that retinaSEES meets rigorous requirements for safety, performance, and clinical reliability across its intended use in the treatment of intermediate age-related macular degeneration.

The Class IIb designation reflects the device's active therapeutic nature and the level of independent conformity assessment required to bring it to market. This milestone marks a critical step in Oculox's pathway to broad clinical adoption across European healthcare institutions.
